EMV (Chip & PIN)

This research was one of the first to investigate the structure of the UK Chip & PIN debit and credit cards. It was carried out more way back in 2010 as part of my undergrad thesis. Since then, I have had no further publications.

The research looked into CAMs (Card Authentication Methods) implemented by different UK banks to understand their policies. I developed a Java-based reader was developed to exchange information with all UK Debit/Credit cards, and some foreign cards. The software simulates an ATM machine to perform an off-line PIN verification.
